This week we reviewed budgeting and created questions to prepare for our budgeting interview. One of the things we are doing in this class is taking different steps of leadership like hiring, employee discipline, budgeting and firing and creating questions to ask individuals who are in leadership positions outside of nursing. This can be challenging to find who to ask. So far I have been able to ask those people I know but I am running out of individuals and will start looking for members of the community to interview.
Another aspect of the week is working on a larger project as a team. We are reviewing leadership styles of men and women and comparing who is better at what. Two members of our team are polling men and women and asking questions and opinions on how they feel about the differences between men and women. Once the data is collected we will prepare a group presentation. I think this is a great assignment because everyone has an opinion about this. The data we collect should be very interesting.
Unfortunately, I missed class this week but look forward to the next class. I feel more prepared for assignments when I can participate in class.
